WORLD POVERTY CAFÉ

TO BE HELD ON AUGUST 1ST

According to the 2014 Illinois Kids Count report, more than 20% of Illinois children live in poverty.  That rate increased from 16.3% in 2006 to 20.6% in 2013.  Tazewell County All Our Kids Early Childhood Network (AOK) would like to discuss the assumptions and stigmas associated with poverty.

A World Poverty Café Discussion will be held on August 1, 2014 from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm at the Pekin Public Library, 301 S 4th Street.  The focus of the café is to gather members of local government, faith based organizations, social service, education, law enforcement, public health and mental health to discuss what assumptions are held and how stigma often cause issues for...
