Substance Abuse Prevention
The Substance Abuse Prevention Program utilizes the “Too Good For Drugs” prevention education curriculum. TGFD can be taught to students in 5th -8th grade. Ten lessons per grade level cover topics including goal setting, decision making, peer pressure, refusal strategies, the role of advertising, tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, stress and communication. The program must include at least two years of sequential programming per school.
Staff also works with community partners on public policy change and community assessment.
