As an alternative to storing or improperly disposing of the unwanted chemicals, TCHD encourages residents to take advantage of Illinois EPA sponsored Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events. The program provides an opportunity for residents to safely dispose of unwanted household chemicals such as old pesticides, waste oil, paint, solvents, household cleaners, etc. Contact TCHD for location, dates and times of the next scheduled event Tazewell County places a high priority on removing toxic material from general household waste in order to safeguard public health and the environment.
